Large crowd enjoys college holiday luncheon
Faculty, staff, and friends of SWTJC filled the Matthews Student Center Ballroom on Dec. 8 for a Cowboy Christmas Open House.
Hosted by the counseling department and the arts and sciences division, the event featured lunch and a visit from Santa. Winners in the 2017 SWTJC Friends and Alumni Network (FAN) drawing to benefit the FAN scholarship fund were also announced.
Connie Buchanan of Uvalde won the top prize, a new 270 Winchester Rifle Model 70 Super Grade. The drawing raised approximately $13,000 for the scholarship fund.
The SWTJC FAN scholarships are for area high school graduates. Scholarship applications can be found at swtjc.edu.
