Regional GED graduates recognized

A total of 31 students from Crystal City and Eagle Pass were honored July 12 during the Eagle Pass High School Equivalency Commencement Ceremony hosted in Eagle Pass by the SWTJC Adult Education & Literacy Program. WATCH CEREMONY

Eliza Diaz, director of the adult education and literacy program, welcomed graduates and their guests to the ceremony held in the Multi-purpose room at the Eagle Pass campus.

Isela Alvarez, SWTJC Adult Education, and Literacy (AEL) Instructor introduced Mexican Consulate Ismael Naveja Macias, who delivered the keynote address.

SWTJC AEL Instructors Minerva P. Bernal and Tina Taylor assisted AEL director Diaz in presenting certificates of completion to the graduates.

Crystal City students receiving their GED include Johnathan Cervantes, Brea Hernandez, Armando Rivera, and Shayanne Saldana.

Eagle Pass students receiving their GED include Maria Barrientos, Nancy Barrientos, Rafael Canales, Miguel Carrazco, Javier Contreras, Alejandro Elizondo, Benjamin Estrada, Elizabeth Garcia, Daniela Gil, Georgina Gonzalez, Leslie Guzman, Jose Hernandez, Wendy Llanas, Emily Loredo, Anthony Lopez, Gladis Martinez, Joel Martinez, Jessica Mejia, Jahaziel Moreno, Roque Pena, Juan G. Perales, Paola Portales, Nahila Ramirez, Janneth Ramos, Sandra Rodriguez, Ursula Vallejo and Ricardo Vazquez.
