Financial Aid Office

The Financial Aid office at Southwest Texas Junior College assists students in applying and receiving financial assistance. There are several forms of financial assistance; which include grants, loans and student institutional employment. The amount and type of aid issued to students is dependent on the established financial need and funds availability.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the acceptable need - analysis form used to calculate the applicants’ financial need. Assuming the applicant meets all other eligibility requirements, the Expected Family Contribution or EFC amount determines Pell grant eligibility and is used in an equation to determine financial aid eligibility. Assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students interested in receiving financial aid at registration should apply as soon as possible. FAFSA applications are available as early as January 1st of the award year.

Southwest Texas Junior College has established a May 1st priority processing deadline for student to be considered early applicants.
