last Chat with the President 2015SWTJC President Dr. Hector Gonzales visited the Eagle Pass campus to address student concerns during a Q&A session in the D 113 on Thursday, Nov. 12th.


Several students were on hand to ask a variety of questions addressing issues concerning more parking, grants for students, and child care for SWTJC students. As well as when the new building will be open, will they have new equipment and when we will have a atm.

Students were treated to sandwiches chips and punch after the chat. Sponsored by Student Activities.

Creative Writing Club Sale
CWC SWTJC Creative Writing Club had a Sale on Nov. 5th to raise funds.

The event took place in C building they had goodies to sell from fruit cups to water. "It was a total success," said Mrs. Diana Rodriguez Club Sponsor.

Veterans Day luncheon in Eagle Pass
Veteran's Luncheon


       The SWTJC Veteran's Affairs office held its annual Veteran's  Luncheon on the Eagle Pass campus Thursday, Nov. 5th to honor veterans for their service. Local veterans from all branches of service were invited. Photos

SWTJC student Mr. Anthony Ramirez Post Sr. Vice Commander VFW Post 8562 was the guest speaker. " I want you all to stop thinking of yourselves as just soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen. Combat Vet or not. We each have a specific skill set that only you as veterans share. You are all leaders.," said Ramirez.

Mrs. Diane Underwood and Mr. Paul Kimble sang the National Anthem. Sponsored by the Veteran's Affairs office.

Artists receive awards in face painting and art contest at Dia de Muertos Event.
Dia del MuertoWinners in the sugar skull face painting contest held Monday (Nov. 2) in Uvalde were Jalisa Medina, first; Jennifer Ybarra, second; and Juanita Rodriguez, third.

Winners is the art contest were Nikki Perez, first; Patricia Ontiveros, second; and Christian Onofre, third. Sebastian Quintanilla of Anthon Elementary received an honorable mention for his piece. PHOTOS

Prizes of $50, $30 and $20 were awarded to the top artists in the contest held in conjunction with the Dia de los Muertos Celebration. A total of three participants entered the face painting contest, while the art contest pulled in 98 pieces of artwork.

The event was sponsored by the SWTJC Uvalde Catholic Club.

Commit to Success Rally
Commit to Success Rally SWTJC Eagle Pass Campus held its Commit to Success Rally on Tuesday, October 27. This year event was held inside the C building due to inclement weather. Commit to success Rally is a student Involvement fair devised to provide information on college resources available on campus. Reruiters from TAMU-SA, TAMU, SR/RGC, OLLA, TAMU-College Station and UTSA were available to answer students questions. PHOTOS

Eagle Pass Waterworks Field Trip
Chem squad felid fall 2015 



SWTJC Eagle Pass Campus 4 Chemistry classes (Chem 1311) conducted educational field trips to the Eagle Pass Waterworks System - Water Treatment Plant in October 26- 30, 2015. The said trips gave the students in all of the 4 Chemistry 1311 courses the visual experience tour of the facility, including the actual observation of the different physical and chemical treatments employed starting from the raw water (sourced from Rio Grand River)...until ready for consumer distribution. The technical staff, headed by Engr. George Flores, the Asst./Operations Manager of EPWS, were comprehensive and effective in guiding and explaining to each group the steps/ procedures which employed in the water treatment process.

PTK Blood Drive
ptk blood drive 2015 The annual fall blood drive on the Eagle Pass campus was a big success.

According to drive organizer Mr. Paul Kimble, a total of 38 units of blood were donated. The total number of participants were 33.
