A packed house gathered for an early taste of Thanksgiving on Nov. 16 for the annual Thanksgiving Feast sponsored by the Student Activities Office.

"This is one of the biggest crowds we've ever had," said Jessica Nuñez-Gonzalez, director of student activities. "It's a great way to kick off the holiday season."

Highlighting the event was the naming of 2011 student choice awards. Winners include: Carlos Ruiz and Alyssa Perez, Mr. and Ms. Santa; Roylee Soliz and Alicia Villareal, campus favorites; David Gomez and Rebecca Morales, friendliest; Alfredo Chavarria and Esther Zepeda, most athletic; Adan Alarcon and Juanita Macias, best looking; and Jonathan Sancez and Aracely Salazar, campus clowns.

SWTJC speech and kinesiology instructor Rob Fowler and his wife, library assistant Landra Fowler, were named as the student choices for Mr. and Mrs. Santa honors.

The SWTJC/Community jazz band performed, while dinner was served.
