The SWTJC Adult Basic Education (ABE) Program has once again been recognized as one of the top programs in the state.

Associate Dean of ABE and Workforce Training Romelia Aranda and program coordinator Oscar Garcia  accepted two gold level recognition awards during the recent Texas Association for Literacy and Adult Education Conference held at San Antonio's Crown Plaza Riverwalk Hotel on Feb. 1-4.

SWTJC received awards for meeting 100% of its performance standards in the regular adult education program, as well as in the EL-Civics program. This year marks the seventh consecutive year for the college to receive state recognition.

"Once again our instructors and staff have done an excellent job in meeting the needs of our students," Aranda said. "I congratulate all those involved for their hard work in earning this recognition."
