Men win two straight; final home game this Friday

The SWTJC Cowboys will play their final home game of the season this Friday (Feb. 24) against the Victoria College.

SWTJC men come into the contest following consecutive wins on Monday and Wednesday. On Monday (Feb. 20), the Cowboys downed Incarnate Word University, 100-78. Four players scored in double figures including: John Register, 20; Alvin Stevens, 19; Ed Salazar, 18; and Ethan Lynch, 15.

Playing at home on Wednesday night (Feb. 22), the Cowboys also posted a victory with a 117-77 verdict over Palo Alto College.

Against Palo Alto, five SWTJC players scored in double figures led by Alvin Stevens and John Register with 20 points each. Cole Martinez with 17 points, along with Ethan Lynch and Kejuon Presberry with 13 points each, were the other Cowboys in double figures.

"We have had two good games in a row and we are looking forward to Friday's game with Victoria College," coach Richard Flores said. "It would be nice to have a good crowd on hand for our final home game."
