Registration for summer classes is in full swing at Southwest Texas Junior College.

According to registrar Luis Fernandez, students eligible to register online started signing up for Summer I classes on April 23. Regular advisor-assisted registration for Summer I will begin on Monday, April 30.

"Students must have a time permit to participate in advisor-assisted registration for both summer sessions," Fernandez said. "Time permits can be obtained at the Flores Student Services Building."

If a student is currently taking a developmental education class, or is on academic suspension or probation, they must have a grade of B or better on the midterm report to obtain a permit between April 30 and May 10.

Students who do not meet the minimum grade requirement still need to get a time permit for the week of May 14-18.

"Classes for Summer I will begin on May 21, which is quite a bit earlier than usual," Fernandez. "Registration for Summer II classes will begin on June 11 and classes will begin on June 27."

In addition to summer classes, students may now register for the Humanities Maymester class. Registration for other Maymester classes (outdoor education, lifeguard training and business principles) will begin on April 30.
