Youth fitness class begins second session

basketballyouthWhile summer may be "couch potato" time for many youth, participants in SWTJC's Fun Fitness Fundamentals Class are spending their afternoons working out.

According to class coordinator Derek Sandoval, the second two-week session in the summer program began on June 18 and will run through Thursday, June 28.

"We had 18 youth in grades two through six in our first session and we are expecting about that many once we get started again with our second session," Sandoval said.

Class instruction focuses on conditioning, agility, balance, coordination, leadership skills, team building, first aid safety and health tips.

Activities include swimming, snorkeling, dance, soccer, volleyball, kickball and basketball.
