First dual credit orientation held August 10 in Uvalde

dual credit orientationOver 100 juniors and seniors from area high schools, as well as home schooled students, attended the first dual credit orientation session held Friday, Aug. 10, in Uvalde.

"We were pleased with the turnout at our first session," SWTJC Dean of Admissions Joe Barker said. "We have additional sessions scheduled across our service area over the next two weeks."

In Uvalde, additional sessions are scheduled on Saturday, Aug. 18, and Friday, Aug. 31.

Orientation sessions for first-time dual credit students are also slated Aug. 10 in Crystal City, Aug. 11 and Aug. 29 in Del Rio, Aug. 11 in Eagle Pass and Aug. 18 in Hondo. Students can attend the session most convenient for them.

Students who have previously taken a dual credit course through SWTJC are not required to attend the orientation session. Attendance is mandatory for all first-time dual credit students.
