luisandstudentJust over 6,000 students have registered for fall classes, according to unofficial enrollment numbers released Monday morning by SWTJC Registrar Luis Fernandez.

"We still have maybe 100 dual credit students who haven't officially registered and late registration runs through Tuesday, Aug. 28, so I expect us to be over 6,100 students when registration officially ends," Fernandez said.

Fernandez notes that there are still a large number of registered students on the drop list for non-payment, but still believes official enrollment will top last fall's 5,664.

"As usual, we still have way too many students on the drop list, but we will be working on getting students on some sort of payment plan over the next week," Fernandez said.

Students who have not made payment arrangements should contact the business office on their campus as soon as possible.

"There are several payment options available, so I encourage students to come in immediately to get something set up," Fernandez said.
