McDonald wins barrel race, leads women to third place finish

Morgann McDonald led the SWTJC women's team to a third place finish by taking top honors in barrel racing at the 50th Annual SWTJC Rodeo.

McDonald, with a combined time over two runs of 33.74 seconds, bested former SWTJC team member Razzi Beyer, now a member of the Texas A&M University team, by .26 of a second to claim the barrels title.

Also earning points for the SWTJC women was Morgan Fulenwider who finished seventh in goat tying.

Team roping header Tyler Wojciechowski and heeler Colton Lee earned the only points for the men's team finishing sixth in team roping.

Sam Houston State University swept the team titles, with Hill College finishing second in the men's division and Northeast Texas Community College taking the runner-up spot among the women's teams.
