SWTJC got an early Christmas present Monday (Dec. 10) when it learned the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission of Colleges has "accepted without exception" the college's five-year report.
"This is great news and I want to thank everyone on the faculty and staff who worked so hard to get this report compiled," president-elect Dr. Hector Gonzales said.
According to Gonzales, a variety of committees composed of college staff have been working on the report for nearly two years.
"It was a long process but the acceptance of our report by SACS affirms all the hard work we are doing and will continue to do in meeting the needs of our students." Gonzales said.
The acceptance of SWTJC's five-year report follows the 2007 reaffirmation of SWTJC's accreditation by SACS. SWTJC will undergo its next reaffirmation in 2017.
