A series of 13 hour-long seminars are scheduled in Uvalde this fall targeting a variety of ways students can help themselves succeed.
Sponsored by the Student Success Center on the Uvalde campus, the seminars will cover a variety of topics including effective studying strategies, note taking using the Cornell system, communications with faculty, time management, social networking, creating a resume and transferring to a university.
The seminars will also outline various resources available on the Uvalde campus, including healthy fun and fitness opportunities.
All seminars will be held from 11 a.m. until noon in the Tate Auditorium. COMPLETE SCHEDULE
According to SWTJC Director of Student Services Lorena Lopez all students enrolled in new student orientation (ORIE 0100) are required to attend a minimum of four seminars. Sign-up sheets will be available at each seminar.
"These seminars target our new students, but they are open to everyone and cover topics all our students can benefit from," Lopez said. "I encourage all our students to take the initiative to broaden their knowledge and help themselves achieve success this fall."
