SWTJC barrel racer Morgann McDonald is fifth going into the championship round of the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) in Casper, WY.
The championship round of the week long CNFR is slated for 7 p.m., Saturday, June 15, at the Casper Events Center.
After three rounds, the top five in the average for barrel racing are: Timmi Ward, College of Southern Idaho, 42.33; Jade K. Crossley, Blue Mountain Community College, 42.62; Hayden S. Segelke, Northeastern Junior College, 42.71; Jaime Barrow, Western Texas College, 42.87; and Morgann McDonald, SWTJC, 42.88.
In the overall team competition three Texas schools are leading the pack in the men's division, with Tarleton State University in first, Hill College in second and Sam Houston State University in third.
Idaho State University leads the women's division, followed by Northeastern Junior College, Blue Mountain Community College and Mesalands Community College.
McDonald, who finished first in barrel racing in the Southern Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, is the only SWTJC rodeo athlete to qualify for the CNFR.
