McDonald finishes fifth in 2013 College National Finals Rodeo

SWTJC barrel racer Morgann McDonald had the second best time in the finals of the 2013 College National Finals Rodeo to finish fifth overall. McDonald's total time for four rounds of barrel racing was 56.76.

Timmi Ward of the College of Southern Idaho was the 2013 champion with a combined time of 56.19. Jade K. Crossley, Blue Mountain Community College, 56.50; Hayden S. Segelke, Northeastern Junior College, 56.62; Kynder L. Starr, Tarleton State University, 56.68; and McDonald, 56.76, rounded out the top five.

In the overall team competition Panhandle State University won the men's title followed by the College of Southern Idaho. Southern Region teams competing were Hill College, fifth; Wharton Junior College, 11th; and Sam Houston State University, 12th.

Women's team champion for 2013 was Idaho State University, followed by Northeastern Junior College. Souther Region teams and their final placing were McNeese State University, eighth; and Sam Houston State University, 19th.
