Online registration begins Monday (Oct. 28) for spring classes at SWTJC.
"There will be a week of online registration before regular registration begins on Nov. 4," said SWTJC Registrar Luis Fernandez. "Students should remember that the earlier they get registered the better class and instructor selection they have, but they also need to make payment arrangements early as well."
Fernandez said failure to make payment arrangements can offset advantages of registering early.
"Students who register anytime before Nov. 25 must make payment arrangements by Dec. 2 of they will be dropped from classes and forced to re-register for whatever classes are available at that time," Fernandez said. "So, a student could get their schedule just like they wanted it, but have to change some or all of their classes because they didn't make arrangements to pay."
Students who are forced to re-register or who wait until after Nov. 25 will have until Jan. 10 to make payment arrangements or be dropped from classes.
According to Fernandez, once a student gets registered for classes and knows what their bill will be, they should contact the financial aid office to make sure their file has been updated and there are no holes in their file.
If they plan to make payments through the E-Cashier system they should contact the business office.
"There are options available for students to pay for their classes, but it is the student's responsibility to find out what their options are and choose the one that best suits their individual situation," Fernandez said. "If students don't take care of their financial obligations we have no option but to drop them from classes."
