"The weather kept down the overall number of participants, but it didn't slow down the runners who showed up, especially in the men's 5K," said event co-chair Landra Fowler. "We had some outstanding times in the 5K run."

The overall winner, Josh Quiroga of Uvalde and Colby Kansas Community College, turned in the fastest time clocking in at 16:39. Three former 5K champions – Pete Belman, Ruben Ortiz and James Ortiz – finished second through fourth, respectively.

In the women's division, Brittany Ontiveros finished first in a time of 21:39, followed by Stephanie Gonzalez, Ciara Rodriguez and Ahira Merrell.

Julian Montalvo won the boys one-mile with Mason Hicks in second place and Eddy Beza finishing third. In the girls one-mile, top finishers were Brisa Rodriguez, Lauren Haughey and Esmy-Angelee Garcia.

Antonio Quiroga and William Ortiz finished first and second in the men's 10K, while Julie VanHoy finished first and Natasha Hobley was second in the women's 10K.
