Students encouraged to register online to avoid new year's rush

Eligible students are encouraged to register online over the holidays to avoid the anticipated rush when Southwest Texas Junior College offices reopen Jan. 2 after the Christmas break.

"There is just over a week for registration from the time we come back after the holidays until registration shuts down on Jan. 10," SWTJC registrar Luis Fernandez said. "So, if students are eligible to register online we strongly encourage them to do so during the break."

Fernandez said many students wait until their grades are recorded for the fall semester to determine which classes they need to take in the spring.

"Students should have their fall grades by now so unless they still need to take some developmental classes there is no reason they shouldn't take advantage of online registration," Fernandez said.

To register online, find the online registration icon on this page. Fernandez said students can also enroll online for a payment plan.

The first day of classes for the spring semester will be Monday, Jan. 13.
