Carl D. Perkins Qualifications

You may qualify for assistance from this grant if you are enrolled in a technical program and can show economic need. 

Other qualifications include:

  • Enrollment for 12 semester hours of classes in the Fall and Spring semesters and 6 semester hours during the Summer sessions.
  • Actively enrolled in a Technical Program
  • Maintenance of an overall grade point average of 2.0
  • Registration in classes for your respective major
  • Enrollment in a Technical Program considered non-traditional for your gender
  • Limited English proficiency
  • Single parent with custody

Showing economic need consists of being economically disadvantaged by receiving funds from any of the following State of Federally funded assistance program:

  • Pell Grant
  • Food Stamps
  • Medicaid
  • Funds from Middle Rio Grande Workforce Development Council
  • Other
