Student Success Services

Various services are available at SWTJC campuses and via email to support student success. Some services serve a specific student demographic, while others are open to all SWTJC students. Some services even partner with Sul Ross University - Rio Grande College to provide four-year support to transferring students.

Student Success Center: Located in Uvalde, Eagle Pass, Del Rio, Crystal City, and with email support for off-campus students, the Student Success Center is open to all students. This center provides computer access, tutoring services in all subjects, and equipment and textbook rentals to students. In addition, the SSC sponsors educational events and trips.

TRiO - Educational Opportunity Center: The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) program provides counseling and information on college admission and financial aid to qualified adults who want to enter or continue a program of post secondary education. EOC is a federally-funded program that counsels participants on financial aid options and assists in the college admission process. The goal of EOC is to increase the number of adult participants who enroll in post secondary education institutions.

TRiO - Student Support Services: This service is a federally-funded program that serves a specific student demographic, focusing on first-generation, first-generation, disabled students. Visit the SSS page for more details.

Writing Center: An extension of the Student Success Center, the Writing Center offers support for writing-intensive courses or assignments.
