Workforce Training & Development
SWTJC's Workforce Training and Development Division is the economic development team for individuals, businesses, industries and organizations across the college's 11-county service area. Several of the courses offered through workforce training and development earn students credits and hours which may be applied to an associate's degree in a given field of study.

In addition, the Workforce Training and Development Division can deliver customized training to meet the specific needs of business and industry.
Mission and Purpose:
The mission of the Workforce Training & Development Division is to provide courses and programs that meet regional business and industry needs as well as special interests of the residents of our service delivery area. The purpose of the Workforce Training & Development Division is to prepare students for certification in a skill or trade and to facilitate continual self-improvement through professional development and personal enrichment classes.

Admission/Registration
Southwest Texas Junior College has an "open door" admissions policy, which ensures that everyone who can profit from a college education has an opportunity to enroll. To be admitted to a continuing education class at SWTJC, students must submit a completed Continuing Education Registration & Personal Data Form in addition to any other documents that might be required for the specific course.
Registration for all Workforce Training & Development courses requires a completed Continuing Education Registration & Personal Data Form. When applicable courses might have additional registration requirements that need to be met in order to comply with a certifying agency.
Students will be informed of all registration requirements for each course and can register at any Southwest Texas Junior College campus locations. Persons registering for contract classes will be registered on site and/or by special arrangement.
Refund Policy
Courses are bound to Southwest Texas Junior College refund policy found in the college catalog. A 100% refund will be made for withdrawals prior to the first day of class. Refunds for withdrawals after the first day of class will be based on the length of the class and day of withdrawals as outlined in the table for Flexible Entry and Non-Semester Length Courses found in the college catalog.
