| Central Power & Light Company Scholarship |
Each year Central Power & Light Company makes available to qualified students two scholarships in business administration, engineering, agriculture or computer technology. The scholarship may be extended each semester through a second year as long as a GPA of 3.00 is maintained and the student completes at least twelve semester hours each long semester.
An applicant for a CPL scholarship must:
1. Meet all entrance requirements of SWTJC (including high school transcript, scores on ACT or SAT, admission application, and TASP scores);
2. Show promise of success in one of four fields mentioned above as determined by tests and the selection committee
3. Have made a scholastic record that would justify consideration for a scholarship, and be in the upper third of their high school graduating class;
4. Follow one of the curricula prescribed for either business administration, engineering, agriculture or computer technology;
5. Have filed a complete copy of application for scholarship in the Registrar's Office by April 1;
6. Must be United States citizens.
Scholarship applicants from CPL’s service territory will be given preference over students from outside the territory.
By accepting the CPL scholarship, the recipient is giving the scholarship committee permission to release to CPL his or her academic transcript each semester.
