| Orville W. Rushing Friend-of-Sabinal Service Scholarship |
Friends and admirers of the late Orville W. Rushing, in remembrance of his humility and service to his fellow residents of Sabinal, have established a scholarship fund to assist graduates of Sabinal High School to attend SWTJC. The recipient should be a humble, serving, caring person with an overall average of 80 percent in high school. The attitude behind this scholarship is well expressed by Matthew 23:11 (NIV), "The greatest among you will be your servant." This scholarship may be extended through the sophomore year if "satisfactory grades" are maintained. The recipient is selected by the SWTJC Scholarship Committee.
