Eta Beta Chapter is celebrating its 50^th anniversary this year. The chapter was chartered on October 20, 1949. This year's fall induction will be held on October 20, 1999, in celebration of the anniversary.

There were five charter members: L. B. Robertson, Rose Malloy, Rudy Flores, Mrs. O. O. Rogers, and Charles Leinweber. Two of the charter members are still alive and live in Uvalde. Flores is currently serving as a member of the SWTJC Board of Trustees.

Eta Beta has won many awards at the regional and international levels through the years.
