SWTJC Catholic Club Hosts Annual Ash Wednesday Service on Uvalde Campus
Uvalde, TX, February 15, 2024 - The Catholic Club at Southwest Texas Junior College (SWTJC) hosted their annual Ash Wednesday service at the Uvalde campus on Feb. 14, where students, faculty, and staff gathered in the Tate Auditorium to participate in this event. PHOTOS
Leading the service was Ken Dirksen, a deacon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde.
Deacon Ken Dirksen took a moment during the service to provide insight into the meaning of Lent, emphasizing its themes of renewal, sacrifice, and spiritual growth.
Approximately 100 individuals from the SWTJC community participated in the Ash Wednesday service, underscoring the importance of faith and communal observance within the college environment.
