SWTJC Celebrates Eagle Pass Early College Academy Achievements

Uvalde, TX, May 14, 2024 - Southwest Texas Junior College (SWTJC) proudly celebrated the Eagle Pass Early College Academy graduating students on May 9 in Eagle Pass. The event was a testament to the exceptional achievements of Eagle Pass High School students and CC Winn High School, inspiring all who attended. PHOTOS

Brenda Hoffman, Vice President of the Eagle Pass Campus at SWTJC, welcomed the attendees. Other members of the SWTJC administration in attendance included Cruz Mata, SWTJC Vice President of Student Services; SWTJC Dean of Instructional Services and School District Partnerships, Charles Garabedian; and SWTJC Dean of Applied Sciences and Liberal Arts, April S. Ruhmann.

A pivotal and inspiring moment of the ceremony was the Presentation of Cords, symbolizing the students' unwavering dedication and hard work throughout their academic endeavors.

Through the Eagle Pass Early College Academy, students are offered a unique and empowering opportunity. They can earn sixty semester credit hours or an Associate of Arts Degree with SWTJC while simultaneously obtaining their high school diploma, setting them on a path of academic excellence and success.

Eagle Pass Early College Academy students honored at the ceremony were Regina Armendariz, Anissa Cardona, Brianna Cervantes, Gabriela De Los Santos, Juan Pedro Esqueda, Crystal Esquibel, Ashlee Estrada, Analla Fernandez, Gabriella Galvan, Ivan Gomez, Leann Hernandez, Ulises Hernandez, Greitxel Huitron, Traci Leos, Xavier Mallen, Jose III Martinez, and Shantel Martinez.

Other students honored include Yesenia Mazuka Mendez, Bianka Montes, Alyson Morales, Samantha Orta, Francisco Parra, Juan Perales, Dominic Perez, Adal Ramos, Abraham Riza, Alondra Rodriguez, Jesse Rodriguez, Julie Rodriguez, Kadrian Rodriguez, Melissa Salinas, Erica Sanchez, Gonzalo Sanchez, Aaliyah Segura, and Jesus Zamora.
